Your Questions About Scuba Diving Trips Hawaii

Linda asks…

I want to do something amazing?

Ok so I am 17, and I really want to have an adventure, something that not many people have done, and I can remember for the rest of my life. I have done so many awesome things in my life, like road trip across the country, snowboarding, surfing in hawaii, scuba diving off the coast of Honolulu, rock climbing, motocross, and I mean all these things are so awesome, but nothing with that much “wow” factor…I want to do something like climb mount everest (I am a rock climber), or backpack through europe, or cycle across the United states…something amazing. Any ideas or personal stories?

You remind me SO much of myself. :)

What about the Great Western Loop? It’s a 7 month hike through 12 national parks in Western USA. Not many people complete it. BUT, if you’re a climber, you could go to Tanzania and volunteer, then climb Mount Kilimanjaro, which is one of the most amazing climbs (in my opinion). You could go on a more technical route that hardly anyone ever goes on (the routes range from a “walk” up and staying in cabins along the way, or ice climbing and rock climbing up glaciers and boulders). Lots of people climb somewhat up Kili – not a lot reach the summit. Most turn back. Don’t let that be you. :) Hey, I’ll climb with you!

Good luck with your adventures. Don’t let anyone hold you back.

OH! And check out this website. They have some crazy adventures that hardly anyone partakes in, besides the crazy adventurist. You have to be 18 for most because, well, they’re not the safest, but definitely worth checking out. I’m doing the Mongolian horse race. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Joseph asks…

Where should I go on vacation? Maldives, Bali, Bora Bora, Cook Islands, etc? Please Help! :) ?

Here are our must haves:

1) Warm water is a must. Warm like the Caribbean (Aruba, Bonaire), not cooler like Hawaii

2) My husband and I want to go somewhere new. We have been all over the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, and North Asia (Hong Kong, Taipei, Korea)

3) Beach access to good snorkeling and/or scuba diving. Boat diving is fine, but we are not looking for a seven day scuba dive boat trip.

We have no children, so no children requirements.

We also can go anytime in 2010, so please also suggest a good time when to go (best weather, warm, etc). E.g. I read that Maldives is great in Feb,Mar,Apr.

I have been thinking about Maldives, Bali, Bora Bora, or Cook Islands, but everywhere looks soooo beautiful. We (my husband and I) are open to suggestions for somewhere beautiful.

Thanks everyone.
We are also looking to go for 12-16 days.

We also LOVE having the option to visit two places. For example, for our 16 day honeymoon we visited two Caribbean islands, Aruba and Bonaire. I really enjoyed seeing two places (our main objective then was scuba diving, which was excellent in Bonaire).

Thanks!

Sharon asks…

Can anyone recommend a good resort in Puerto Rico and/or Hawaii?

I want to schedule my trip for next month and would either go to Puerto Rico or Hawaii because me and my lady friend do not have passports.

What do you recommend Puerto Rico or Hawaii? Do you know of any good resorts there? We are looking for a resort with a lot of activities(e.g. jetskiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, pool, spa etc etc) included and hopefully somewhere that is no more than 500ish a person, and flight included. Also, i know some hotels/resorts or whatever have a minimum age limit, well we are both over 18 but under 21 which makes it more difficult. :/

Im trying to do something nice for our 3 year anniversary, but im becoming very stressed from searching for the right place. Can anyone help?

Tom Trindell answers:

Most resorts do not include motorized watersports, scuba diving, or spa treatments in their regular room rate.

How long do you plan to stay? Where are you coming from? If you’re on the east coast it’ll be cheaper to go to PR, and if you’re on the west coast it’ll probably be cheaper to go to Hawaii.
