My family and I went to the Bahamas for a summer vacation, we went on a plane that took us from San Antonio to Florida, and from florida we got on a smaller plane that took us to the Bahamas. We stayed there for four nights. After settling in the first day, the vacation soon began. We went scuba diving, ate all types of different foods and tryed lots of fun activity’s while hanging out at the beach and the hotel. When the time came to leave back home, nobody wanted to leave.

Where is the best beach for a family vacation?
I am looking for the best beach for a family vacation. We have done the whole Florida thing so that is out! I want: clear water, soft (prefer white) beach, nice waters for swimming. Mostly we just want to lay on the beach for a week! Scenery is most important! We won’t be doing any scuba diving, rock climbing or anything crazy. But maybe some deep sea fishing, whale watching, or something like that. I wouldn’t mind staying at a resort but we want to keep it pretty reasonable.I have been searching and have come up with Maui, Kauai, Riviera Maya, Freeport or Puerto Rico. Let me know where you think would be best!!!
BTW: if it helps we want to go in early May.
Ok, I have also done Myrtle Beach. No offense but I really don’t find it that relaxing of a beach. As for the beach itself, it isn’t the prettiest, Pensecola beats Myrtle Beach hands down!
Let’s just skip the entire Southern Part of America as I have been there, done that.
I want somewhere a little more exotic.
Tom Trindell answers:
Maui is great for a family vacation, and a lot warmer in May than Myrtle Beach! You can deep sea fish, watch whales in the winter months, and enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches, and has nice, clear, warm water. There is great snorkeling there at Molokini, not far from Kihei. There is a great condo in Kihei that we have stayed at that is very reasonable. It is near a fabulous beach, is low priced, and has a kitchen and many other extras. There is a lot to do in Maui- hiking, water spots of all kinds, luaus, fishing, horseback riding, atvs, boogie boarding, shopping, dining, and lots more that we have enjoyed. We love Maui!

Question about vacation to South Beach, Miami..?
This is my first time ever going to Florida and I dont really know what to expect. First, I want to go scuba diving, I have never done that before, and i have no idea where to go or the cost. Next, is there a boat that will take us to the islands for a tour? And are there any other places you would reccomend when in South Beach? Thanks!
Tom Trindell answers:
Do a Google search for diving schools/clubs/charters in Miami. Most diving is done in the Keys. There are various boat tours & other places to see such as Little Havana, Ft. Lauderdale, Everglades National Park. Do some travel reading & come back with some specific questions.
